In vitro fertilization (IVF) treatment involves obtaining eggs and sperm from couples and facilitating fertilization in a laboratory. The expected success rates of IVF can vary from person to person, with age being the most critical factor. For couples under 30, the success rate is approximately 60%, around 30 to 35 years old it is about 40%, and for those around 40 years old, it drops to about 15%. These figures indicate that the most crucial aspect for couples unable to conceive is the woman’s age. IVF treatment cannot be applied to women in menopause, those with hormonal disorders, men with halted sperm production, women with stopped egg production, and women who have had their uterus removed due to surgical conditions.
