In the IVF method, the concept revolves around the process of bringing together the egg and sperm. Microinjection IVF is a highly successful method for achieving pregnancy. Fertilization typically begins when the woman’s egg is exposed to millions of sperm from the male. In this process, the highest quality and strongest sperm is able to penetrate the woman’s egg. From this moment, the fertilized egg is enveloped in a protective shell, preventing other sperm from entering. This event, crucial for the union of the egg and sperm, is related to the sperm’s motility and count. However, in some men, a low sperm count and quality can render them ineffective in this competition, resulting in a failure to achieve pregnancy. Normally, a quality sperm can survive for 72 hours, maintaining its fertilization capability during this time.
