Sperm freezing involves the collection of sperm from males through various means (including surgical methods) and then freezing and storing it in a laboratory for future use in in vitro fertilization (IVF) treatments.<\/p>\n<p>The storage period for all frozen materials is five years. This duration can be extended by submitting petitions to the District Health Directorates. Sperm freezing can be performed in the following situations:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Before chemotherapy treatment for cancer.<\/li>\n<li>Prior to the use of medications or surgical procedures that may cause damage to sperm cells.<\/li>\n<li>In cases where sperm count is low and future sperm retrieval may be challenging.<\/li>\n<li>In males experiencing ejaculation problems due to spinal cord injuries resulting from accidents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The process of temporarily halting the viability of cells is called freezing (cryopreservation), while the process of restoring viability later is referred to as thawing.
